I love working alongside a team of journalists to share stories that matter to the community while keeping viewers informed. I'm able to tackle the unique challenges of the ever-changing newsroom with a calm, decisive and ambitious mindset.

KWES-TV / NewsWest 9

I am currently working as a Producer-in-Residence with Tegna at KWES in Midland/Odessa. Here, I've had the chance to produce our 30-minute 4 & 5 p.m. shows and the hour-long 6 p.m. show. Right now, I produce our primetime show, NewsWest 9 at 10, showcasing the biggest news of the day.

Don Tosti was a pioneer of Chicano rock-and-roll music

Edmundo Martinez Tostado, born in El Paso in 1923, played with all the greats of the Swing Band era.
“Everybody’s born with talent. God doesn’t make anybody anything,” he told Mark Guerrero in a 1999 podcast. “You can pray to God all your life to make you something. He’s too busy. He’s got a lot of people. But if you want to, all you have to do is study. And you get there.”

The Tejano Monument on the state Capitol grounds faced many hurdles

From the Voces Oral History Center:
On March 29, 2012, hundreds celebrated the unveiling of a new monument at the Texas state Capitol. Then-Gov. Rick Perry commended those responsible.
It took over a decade for a small team of history-lovers to change laws, hire a sculptor and raise over $2 million to bring the Tejano Monument to life.
The sculpture was the brainchild of McAllen physician Cayetano Barrera. When Barrera visited the state capitol in 2000, he noticed something missing.
